The voice of HALLELUJAH

It's always interesting to see how things work out.

So, we're looking for someone to narrate Hallelujah. We post an audition on Voices 123 for a male U.K. talent with voice-over experience. Within hours we have about 30 auditions...more than 50 by the end of day (London time). Most of them sound good, but then again, everyone speaking the King's English sounds pretty good--Downton Abby is proof of that. Then, around number 25, a gentleman named David McAlister begins to read. He's reading an excerpt from Chapter 22, "The Ears of the Deaf."

The first few lines are good-- his voice sounds somewhat like the narrator of the Harry Potter series, but then something extraordinary happens. Through the next paragraph we forget he's auditioning. It suddenly feels like David IS the voice of HALLELUJAH, and it was simply a matter of finding him.

From that moment on it has been his voice in our minds whenever we read or speak of HALLELUJAH. We believe he was meant to narrate Handel's amazing story. We will be forever grateful for the blessing of finding him, and for the talent, voice, and spirit that he brought to this project.

Designing the Dream...at 1:30 A.M.

I once heard my father say that nearly every significant creative accomplishment he had achieved in his lifetime was produced sometime before 9 A.M. and after 5 P.M. RAINLIGHT STUDIOS is certainly no exception. And coincidentally, that same person who rises early and stays up late is also the co-founder of this studio. So in fitting fashion, it is currently 1:24 AM and I am working on the new RAINLIGHT STUDIOS website.

So I'm taking this short break to encourage anyone who reads this to stay up late and design your dreams. Wake up early and accomplish your goals. Whatever they may be, give up the time, sleep and peace required to make it happen when your day-job is over. You can do it. Make it happen! Just do it!

RAINLIGHT is our dream...what's yours?
